Tasmanian Rugby Leading the Way in Growing Grassroots Within the Union
Hobart, Australia, 7 Feb 22 // W RUGBY are incredibly excited to announce a brand-new partnership with the Tasmanian Rugby Union (TRU) in Australia. This is the first ever bulk ball agreement administered by the TRU to focus on growing grassroots and invest in rugby across Tasmania. A huge moment for W RUGBY as we begin collaborating with a key organisation to help support local rugby in the community.
At W RUGBY, we are passionate about becoming true partners to Tasmanian Rugby and will act as more than just a typical ball supplier. We want to create real change, helping teams within the Union to promote increased participation in rugby across Tasmania at every level of the game.
This is epitomised through our Project: Won for Won™, with W RUGBY matching every ball that Tasmanian Rugby have purchased and donating them across clubs and schools within Tasmania.

President of the Tasmanian Rugby, Ebony Altimira added, “Our strategy moving forward is to ensure community rugby across Tasmania is well looked after, it’s our responsibility as the governing body of Tasmanian Rugby. Our teams need top quality equipment and we needed to source an equipment partner that not only provides quality rugby balls, but partners with us to grow the grassroots game.”
Rugby clubs in Tasmania’s Premiership, Championship and Women’s leagues will be playing with W RUGBY eliteflight™ match balls across the competitions.
