Rugby 7s Tokyo 2020: The Best Bits
Who won the Rugby Sevens in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics?
We don't know about you, but the highlight of the Olympics for us was the rugby 7s tournament in this year's Olympics in Tokyo.
Fast, explosive, high-scoring and packed with skill; what's not to love? Our eyes we glued on every game.
We look back at some of our favourite moments from the Women's rugby Sevens.
Olympic Gold Medal Winners: New Zealand
Going into the tournament as favourites, New Zealand were the team to beat, but a lot stood in their way to their gold medal performance against France. Gutsy performances from Team GB, Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and Fiji stood in their way to Gold.
But our highlight would have to be Ruby Tui's interview that she gave for the BBC. Positivity, charisma and humbleness shone through to complement her abilities on the pitch. Take a look below!

Absolute Gas: Jasmine Joyce
As Ruby Tui said herself in the video above, Team GB's Jasmine Joyce was "absolute gas" throughout the tournament and finished as the second top try scorer.
Every time she touched the ball you just had a sense that she would do something special with it and that proved to be the case. As the only Welsh representative for Team GB, she did her nation proud.
We can’t put up her Olympics highlights for licencing reasons, but here’s a taste of what she can do from some of her previous games:
Most Exciting Game: Fiji v New Zealand
With so many exhilarating games to choose from, we landed on the Semi Final between Fiji and New Zealand which got us up out of our seats and cheering the most. Fiji, trying to replicate the Gold medal win of their male counterparts a few days earlier, squared up to the tournament favourites and took the game to extra time after holding NZ to a draw.
Future Champions: Australia
Having won in the inaugural Olympics tournament in Rio 2016, Australia were also going to into this tournament with their tail feathers up. Opening their tournament with an emphatic win of 48-0 against tournament hosts Japan, it looked like they would easily defend their gold title this year. However, it was not to be. Narrowly losing two games to the USA and Fiji, Australia had to settle for 5th and crash out to eventual bronze medallists Fiji.
Australia may have missed out on their goal of Gold, however this was a very young team and the talent and skill they showed on the pitch was incredible to watch. Not only will they go from strength to strength, but they've also inspired a nation to love rugby again and put 7s on the map.
